Alphonse Mucha’s iconic linework gained popularity in Paris toward the end of the 19th century, and remains some of the most recognizable work from this time period to this day. Mucha produced lithographs advertising everything from champagne to theatre productions, and his portraiture of glamorous women draped in flowing gowns and pastel florals helped to define the Art Nouveau movement. "I was happy to be involved in an art for the people and not for private drawing rooms," wrote Mucha of his work. "It was inexpensive, accessible to the general public, and it found a home in poor families as well as in more affluent circles."
This calendar features sixteen reproduced decorative prints by Mucha. Double images themed to the equinox and solstice grace each changing season.
